Important Message for all 7th Grade Parents!

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services recently revised the Immunization Requirements for School Children, specifically for current 7^th graders.  Effective with the 2010 – 2011 school year the following new requirement will be implemented:

·         For all incoming 8^th grade students, Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) vaccine will be required if the student has not received a Td booster since August 2008.

If your child has had a recent Tdap vaccine, please bring proof of the immunization to the Smithton Nurse’s Office or have your physician FAX it to 214-3261.

If your child has not received this vaccine, the immunization needs to be completed before they can pick up their Jr. High schedule in August 2010.  Tdap immunizations are available from:

·         Local Physicians

·         Columbia-Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services, 1005 W. Worley, no appointment necessary; Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, $15 fee.
