Senioritis: noun. A crippling disease that strikes high school seniors. Symptoms include: laziness, an over-excessive wearing of track pants, old athletic shirts, sweatpants, athletic shorts, and sweatshirts. Also features a lack of studying, repeated absences, and a generally dismissive attitude. The only known cure is a phenomenon known as Graduation.
Senioritis is plaguing the halls and classrooms of Hickman High School. But it’s not just us- it’s happening all over the country. We are all ready to end our days where our schedules are marked by bells and bus times, and move on to what we know as post-secondary education. We’ve already checked out. I have even begun to make plans with my future roommate! There’s no looking back now. It’s just a countdown. The only promise saving us now is the end of the world as we know it: May 21st.
