The C.A.R.E. Summer Program’s Online Application Is Now Open
The C.A.R.E. Summer Program is for 14- to 19- year olds (must be 14 by January 1, 2014) who live within Columbia City limits and/or attend a Columbia School.Online application available Monday, January 6 through Friday, January 31.  To apply, visit https://www.gocomojobs.com/postings/8979.  The Armory’s computer lab (701 East Ash) is open Monday through Friday from 2:30 to 7:00 p.m. to complete the online application if needed.  If you have any questions, please contact the C.A.R.E. office at 874-6300 or abacton@gocolumbiamo.com

University of Missouri Tomorrow’s Healthcare Elite
Tomorrow’s Healthcare Elite is a program developed by University of Missouri Health Care to identify, cultivate and motivate future diverse health care leaders. This informative and thought-provoking program introduces participants to health care professions and exposes them to its challenges and opportunities. University of Missouri Mini Med School
The University of Missouri School of Medicine will again offer a unique summer experience for high school students interested in careers in medicine. The 16th annual High School Mini Medical School is a one-week experience designed to give students a preview of medical school. The program is intended for students who will begin their senior year in the fall of 2014 and who want to explore the career of a physician.  Click the banner below for more information.

Univ of Missouri Engineering High School Outreach
Hosted by the Mizzou Engineering Student Council, High School Weekend gives high school sophomores, juniors and seniors a taste of the various engineering disciplines and the flavor of campus life. Groups will meet with faculty and current engineering students, work in groups on design challenges and stay and eat in the MU residence and dining halls.  Click the banner for more details and registration information.

Trulaske Business AcademyTrulaske Business Academy is a week long camp at Mizzou and a great opportunity for minority students interested in business. The goal of this week-long residential program is to introduce students to the various disciplines and career opportunities within the business world, while also experiencing life on a college campus. This summer, 30 students will be selected to attend our camp. Students are awarded scholarships that equal the cost of attendance making the experience all-inclusive.

Lincoln University is now offering a Surgical Technology Program.  Upon graduation, students will sit for the national certification exam offered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTA). HUGE NEWS, YOU MUST READ!!!!!!! Our very own Maria McMahon is the recipient of the 2012 Yale Educator Award!!! The Yale Educator Award Recognition Program recognizes outstanding educators from around the world who support and inspire their students to perform at high levels and to achieve excellence. Of this year’s 274 nominees, who represented 33 states and 12 countries our very own Maria McMahon was a recipient. We are so proud to have her as a Kewp!!!!! We strive for excellence and Ms. McMahon has made us all very proud. Way to Go Maria!!!!!!!
