About Ms. Newton
Mrs. Newton Loves Green Day| Mrs. Newton began teaching Science at Oakland in 1997. She retains Bachelors Degrees in Biology, and Education. She retains a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology and is eMINTs Certified. Mrs. Newton has lifetime teaching certificates in Biology and Science grades 7-12. Currently Mrs. Newton is the Head volleyball coach at Rock Bridge Highschool and Assistant Track Coach at Oakland Junior High.
Mrs. Newton’s Classroom goals are as follows: Students will learn using inquiry, research real issues, incorporate project-based learning and reflect to develop scientific literacy. Students will be able to work collaboratively, conduct research, present themselves digitally, create multi-media that is useful and done so others are able to learn from the product. They will also evaluate, judge and reflect upon their own work and the work of others ensuring learning targets are being met.
